Abstract

The article presents a comprehensive analysis of the effect of acidity (pH) and physical properties of gel polish bases on the durability of the coating and the health of natural nails. The study included 53 products classified by pH, consistency, and hardness after polymerization. The technique included laboratory evaluation of the parameters and testing of the coating resistance in real wear conditions. It has been found that bases with a pH of 5.0-6.0 provide optimal adhesion and minimal risk of defects, while strongly acidic formulas are more likely to cause peeling and damage to the nail plate. Additionally, the dependencies between the consistency, hardness and type of the client's nails were revealed. The data obtained were compared with Russian and international studies, which allowed us to formulate practical recommendations on the choice of databases for different clinical situations. The work is of interest to craftsmen, manufacturers and specialists in the field of nail safety.
