Abstract

The article examines a methodological approach to the development of compositional thinking as a key component of art education. It is shown that this approach is based on classical academic principles of moving from the general to the particular and represents an actualization of traditional methodology within the contemporary educational environment. Special attention is paid to the role of compositional thinking in the development of students’ analytical thinking and in the formation of a holistic perception of visual information as an important component of the overall development of personality.
