The relationship between sustainable rural development and agricultural business development

Abstract

The article explores the complex relationship between sustainable rural development and the development of agricultural business in Russia. It is proved that these two categories are inextricably linked and mutually determine each other's success. The article analyzes the contribution of an effective and responsible agricultural business to achieving the economic, social and environmental sustainability of rural areas through job creation, budget filling, innovation and respect for resources. At the same time, it reveals how a sustainable rural environment (high-quality infrastructure, human capital, social stability, and a favorable environment) is a prerequisite for long-term competitiveness and growth of agricultural business. The key problems on the path of synergy (depopulation, infrastructural constraints, environmental risks, access to finance) are identified and ways to solve them are proposed through public-private partnership mechanisms, stimulating "green" investments, developing cooperation and improving the regulatory framework. It is concluded that the strategic integration of the objectives of the URST and the agricultural business is a fundamental factor for the prosperity of the Russian countryside and the agri-food sector in the long term.
