The role of intellectual property in shaping innovation ecosystems and national development strategies

Abstract

This article is devoted to the study of the role of intellectual property in the formation of innovative ecosystems and the development of national development strategies. The introduction examines current trends in the development of innovation potential and the importance of legal mechanisms for the protection of intellectual property. The importance of intellectual property in creating conditions for scientific research and technological breakthroughs is substantiated, and its impact on the competitiveness of enterprises in the global market is emphasized. The methodological part of the article includes the application of an integrated approach combining an analytical review of the literature, a comparative analysis of national innovation support programs and an empirical study of the effectiveness of legal instruments. The paper uses methods of system analysis, statistical processing of the data obtained and comparative study of legislative initiatives in different countries, which allowed us to assess the role of legal norms as an accelerator of innovation processes. The results section presents data indicating the positive impact of active intellectual property policies on the development of innovative ecosystems. The key factors contributing to stimulating investment in R&D and the interaction between research centers and the business environment have been identified. The results of the study confirm the hypothesis that a well-structured system of intellectual property rights protection contributes to the formation of a favorable innovation climate and accelerates transformational processes in the economy. The discussion of the results highlights the need to develop integrated strategies, take into account international experience and develop intersectoral cooperation. The work demonstrates that intellectual property is an important tool of public policy, ensuring a balance between the interests of research organizations, investors and society as a whole. The conclusion of the article focuses on the need for further research in the field of optimizing legal mechanisms in the innovation sector and adapting national strategies to rapidly changing global conditions. Additional analysis shows that the integration of intellectual property into national strategies contributes to the formation of dynamic innovation systems where governments, scientific organizations and private investors work in synergy to achieve high technological standards. It has been established that the improvement of legislative and regulatory acts leads to increased trust between participants in the innovation process, reducing risks and stimulating knowledge exchange. The results obtained can be successfully used to develop recommendations for adapting national policies in order to increase the competitiveness of the economy in the context of globalization and digital transformation.
