Abstract

The aim of this comparative study was to evaluate the impact of ESP blockade on the overall diagnostic process by integrating subjective pain assessment (VAS) and objective tumor anatomical assessment using the PI-RADS scale (MP-MRI). A total of 108 men were prospectively compared. The ESP blockade group (N=53) demonstrated a significant reduction in pain and an improvement in psychoemotional well-being, which correlated with more efficient sample acquisition. A reduction in pain scores according to the VAS after the procedure was found to be directly correlated with positive changes in SAM (well-being, activity, and mood) indicators. The combination of adequate pain relief and high-quality samples obtained in comfortable conditions allows for the maximum realization of the information potential of preoperative imaging methods such as MRI.
